Introduction to Modems
The classic "little black box" that allows computers to communicate using telephone wires.
Each computer has a modem (either plugged into the I/O plugs in the back or internal), which is then plugged into a telephone
The modem on the sending computer translates the computer information (in digital, or binary, format) into sound, which is then sent over the telephone wire.
The modem on the receiving computer then translates that sound back into standard computer format.
